So far, it appears that the problems are not the types that could be the result of the original proff. I cannot deal with these obscure problems, especially if the formatter has been hacked along the way by someone other than myself. I should also point out that I do not intend to fix proff, or take care of it in any extended fashion. It contains all the symptoms of "the first system", and if I ever think world needs another troff/runoff/nroff/waterloo-script type formatter, I would probably write it from scratch. I would therefore urge those of you having problems, to get a hold of the original, or a well-hacked-and-proven-to-work version from a neighboring person/site/bbs/whatever. Sorry if I sound like I am deserting you, but I have too many irons on the fire right now, and I would rather not have proff amongst them. In other words, I have absolutely no time to deal with proff and/or its problems, whatever they may be. oz (the author of proff) -- The best way to have a Usenet: [decvax|ihnp4]!utzoo!yetti!oz good idea is to have a Bitnet: oz@[yusol|yuyetti].BITNET lot of ideas.
