I have just (last night) purchased a bare bones Amiga, and now I need information. Here on the net I see many questions, but few answers. I would appreciate hearing what people have to say about the following subjects, and I will summarize for the net: 1. Information sources. Where do you find out about the Amiga? Please recommend BBS's, magazines, books, etc. I have only seen Amigaworld magazine, mod.amiga.sources, and comp.sys.amiga. 2. Hard Disks. What is the best way to go? 3. Clocks. I understand the amiga has none. 4. IBM compatible floppy drives. What do these do? Should I have one if I have access to an IBM compatible? 5. Communication software? 6. Word processors? 7. Printers? 8. C compilers? I have heard that the Manx is a good one to get. Contrary opinions solicited. 9. Where does micro-emacs for the Amiga come from? 10. Turbo-amiga from CSA. Its expensive, but sounds awesome. Should I get this? Or just pieces of it? 11. Additional words of wisdom, oriented towards one who owns but has never operated an Amiga. I apologize for my ignorance, but I am eager to get started. Thanks in advance. David Fox allegra!dsf 201-582-5460
