I saw this in the Jan. 19 InfoWorld, in a column full of rumours about IBM's upcoming products: (It's probably not reliable, but I found it interesting.) All three PCs will have what sources have called "astounding" graphics and sound capabilities built into the hard- ware; the two low-end machines will also boast built-in speech technology. They will have much smaller footprints, 3 1/2- inch disk drives, and will be manufac- tured at IBM's Austin, Texas, plant. Gee, that sounds familiar... :-) Also, FYI: The two "low-end machines" referred to are an 8086-powered toy that'll run DOS 3.3, and an 80286 machine that'll run Mirosoft's "Advanced DOS" and is supposed to replace the AT. There may be a third, using an 80386, but nobody knows anything. The column also said that "IBM insiders now say the firm is planning an April 2 announcement." Now if only they mentioned if ADOS will multitask... (I think it's safe to say DOS 3.3 won't or they'd jump the number more.) -Colin Plumb (c/o csc@watmath) Zippy says: I don't know WHY I said that.. I think it came from the FILLINGS in my read molars..
