I think everybody thought Atari was going to bring their technical reference manual to market sooner. However, there are a couple of bright points. GEMDOS is pretty similar to MS-DOS 2.1, so books on MS-DOS programming are somewhat helpful. Also, there is now a ``Programmer's Guide to GEM'', whose publisher I can't remember. Either of these resources, PC-specific as they are, is probably better than the Abacus stuff. >... Also with regard to Modula-2, has anyone out there got >release 3 from TDI? How is it? I just ordered mine by phone last week. Apparently, they aren't shipping just yet, but expect to ``soon'' (I suspect that's why they discouraged phone orders on the order form). By the way, my respect for TDI as a company continues to escalate. Not only is their update price reasonable (if a little high), but they are flexible. I ordered the commercial upgrade late last year. I felt it was a bit unreasonable to pay an additional US59.95 to upgrade now, since I'd have waited for the upgrade if I knew a new version was imminent. However, they told me that I could have the update for the cost of the 3 library source disks they had sent me in the commercial upgrade, plus US$5.00 shipping. A good firm, with a good product.
