Well, events have sort of made my task fairly easy: PASC has stopped supporting their GEM forth product. The one person who was their support man for GEM on the ST simply left. Too bad, because the product was (is) very good. Actually, the language system is excellent, including complete hooks into the OS. The editor, however, is very poor. From what the guy said over the phone, PASC is planning on introducing a Forth system bundled to OS9 (by Microware, I believe) for the ST. I have no doubt that the quality of the software will be high. However, the price will also be high, especially after adding in the price of OS9. And I cannot help wondering just how long it will be supported. PASC appears to be quite understaffed (overextended?). Sigh! I guess I will have to buy one of those expensive C compilers sometime soon. -- Patrick Simon 2-7-87 PSIMON%PPC.MFENET@NMFECC.ARPA disclaimer: I am associated with none of the corporations mentioned above, except that I was once a customer of Palo Alto Shipping Co.
