[] I am sure everything is done with good intentions, and thanks! Unfortunately, _somebody_ has to pay and they're starting to grumble. The recent posting of the source to uemail, and now of Uniterm 1.6g (right after Simon Poole announced that it has a bug and 1.7a is on the way), is just what we shouldn't do right now. We hear that comp.sys.atari.st is overflowing. I.e., "they" measure by newsgroup traffic. The obvious solution: split the newsgroup into two or three! I suggest we have: 1) A general ST discussion group 2) A distribution method of PD ST executable programs 3) A separate distribution of source code of programs 2) and 3) can be Usenet newsgroups, but don't HAVE to be. And perhaps 2) SHOULD be moderated, i.e. someone could make sure the copy is good before it is sent to everybody. Also, the number of copies sent will be smaller, since many people reading this newsgroup are not interested in the source code, and some not even in the executables. - Moshe Braner
