Providing "media HAS changed" would be a BIG MISTAKE: Media-change causes all open files on the affected device to be SILENTLY CLOSED. This suggestion, however, spawned a discussion here at Atari which might result in a backpatch for all existing ST systems which would fix the problem: a TSR routine which "trims the tree" from outside GEMDOS, to keep it from overflowing.
