My housemate recently got the book from Sams that teaches you how to
align the 1541. That's fine for his needs, but I've got the 128 with
both the 1541 and the 1571 drives on it. I have no trouble with the
1541, but my 1571 is really messed up. I took it into the shop and,
of course, they had absolutly no problem with it. About a week after
I got it back the problems started again. I think it's the alignment
of the heads, but I'm not too thrilled about working on it myself since
Sams doesn't publish a similar book for the 1571. Can anyone assure
me of the similarities of the two drives or inform me of the differences
so that I can make this alignment myself?
