I have a few questions that I am sure have been asked many times before:

1) Does anyone have (or can tell me where to find) a comprehensive list of all
   the BBSs in the U.S.?

2) Are there computer systems on the network (i.e. VAX, etc) that keep
   large directories of IBM PC software, that are accessible by ftp?

3) Are there services that will help keep your phone bills down by having
   you call them and then they connect to the remote computer?  

4) I heard that someone has written a set of guidelines on how to use BBSs
   and keep costs down.  Does anyone know where I might get this?  Any
   suggestions of your own would be appreciated as well.

Thanks for putting up with another poor slob bitten by the BBS bug.
