Lawrence's microEmacs v3.8 has some regular-expression capability. I don't know how to search for a pattern _and_then_replace_part_of_it_ (without trashing the entire pattern), but this may reflect my lack of skills with regular expressions. (I can't manage this in vi, either.) At any rate, it *will* do the search part adequately for my needs. Pointers: maybe in SIMTEL20 archives by now, or from Dan Lawrence's BBS at 1-317-742-5533; maybe elsewhere. Plug: I like this editor a lot.
