From the sticker on my new Word 1.05 box:

I did and they promised to send me a form which hasn't arrived yet.

Now it appears that I can get it for $29 through my university's
distributor.  People who bought 1.05 before about October have to
pay $50 or 60 for the upgrade.  I don't know what Microsoft would charge
them.  3.0 isn't due here until February.
