What makes the Amiga look so fast doing screen updates is the blitter.  The
sun (and the mac and the st) have virtually nothing between the CPU and the
bare phosphor of the CRT.  The amiga has a very fancy blitter and coprocessor
that can do nearly all the work.  If you wanna do graphics, you gotta love
the amiga.
