The ERGO-4000 has two modes VT52 and ANSI.  In ansi mode, it emulates
most (all?) vt-100 commands.  The only difference that I know of is
that the ergo-4000 has a 66 line mode.  Try something like:

e4|ergo4000:li#66:tc=vt100
