Don't forget that you will have to bit-tune the fonts yourself after
Metafont is through with them.  At Macintosh screen resolution, there is
little hope of any automatic font generator doing a really good job.
Metafont tries very hard, but when characters are only a handful of dots
wide, it's just not within the state of the art to get good-looking fonts
from resolution-independent control information.
