Indeed su-score is a Tops-20 machine. 
To connect to the bibtex directory, try "cd <tex.bibtex>".
If you transfer binary files (e.g. fonts), don't forget ftp's "tenex" switch.
And last, you can transfer multiple files with the help of "mget".
If you want to do it quietly, toggle "prompt".
