Profs mail is slightly incompatible with normal mail, though (I don't know the specifics). I'm not sure what you mean by a link between profs and a Vax, but if you are trying to send mail, JNET will allow you to set up mail addresses such as "profs%someuser@ibmnode" - JNET is a RSCS interface for the VAX, in general.
