One of these guys is hooked to an Amdahl running VS2/MVS. I talk to their JES2 batch interface via a HASP package, and use the link strictly for RJE. The most modern DEC<=>Big Blue interface it ain't. My Amdahl host shop is contemplating moving to JES3 in the spring, and they have suggested that, if I install jNET to replace HASP, I can have both RJE and the EMS world over my bisync line; they are the guys who are already in BITNET. My question is -- right now, RJE to the Amdahl is my most important reason to talk to them. I have a fair idea of how I could get into the EMS world via JES3 and jNET, but the ins and outs of using this setup for RJE are not quite as obvious (at least to me). Is there anyone out there with suggestions/experience/advice?
