I would like the DAEMON to be able to get a message through to a process regardless of whether it is interactive or batch. Is there a "good-programming" way to issue a message to the SYS$OUTPUT for a specific process (based on the pid)? IE to either a terminal or to a disk file, the latter which would be open by the owning process. Hope this isn't too much off the wall.
