just recently bought a CD player, and when ya couple this to my recent conversion to the 
"progressive" music scene, ya can figure i've been buying CDs left and right.

right ?

wrong.

aside from one lucky strike, (in a buffalo,ny appliance/electronics warehouse, of all places),
in which i bought mortal coil, cocteau twins (treasure), and joy division (unknown pleasures),
i have not been able to find any thing. 

am i looking for the non-existent holy grail?

is there any mail order outfit that might carry this sorta stuff at least a couple days out of the 
month ? how about a decent store(s) in the Boston area that would make the road trip from newport
worthwhile?

why do i talk in questions ?

by the way, as an entry in the catalogue of outrageous CD prices , the aforementioned discs were priced
at an average of $20 but there was one cocteau twin disc,(don't remember which one) that was priced at $49.
i took it up to the desk to check on the price and the clerk said ," yep, that's right, 49 dollars. will 
that be cash or charge?". 

needless to say , that's one disc that didn't make the trip back to sunny rhode island with me.
