    I like ispell a lot, but it seems not to recognize the first word in
    ispell.hash.  Does this also happen under BSD?  I discovered this by
    running ispell -l on its own wordlist.

    I have sent about 1700 words to the original poster.  It seems that a
    filter is needed to maximally compact combined lists to use the suffix
    coding.  Many of the words I added could be added as just suffixes, but I
    didn't do the necessary filtering.
