``The Use of Orthogonal Polynomials for the Discretization of Some Classes of
 Weakly Singular and Singular One Dimensional Fredholm Integral Equations"

     We present some special cases of weakly singular and singular Fredholm
integral equations where the use of particular classes of classical orthog-
onal p polynomials allows the construction of efficient methods for their
numerical solution.  In particular we examine with  some details the linear
transport equation in slab geometry and the generalized airfoil equation.
