In that connection, there will be a UUCP node name change from "utcs" to "utgpu" (the fully qualified name of the machine is "gpu.utcs.toronto.edu"). Everything else, including access methods for UUCP, will remain the same. To make the transition, on the weekend or as soon as possible thereafter site administrators on machines with a direct uucp connection to utcs please do the following: In all cases, make a copy of the L.sys (or Systems) entry for "utcs" and label it for "utgpu". You should have two identical entries except for the system name. If you are running 4.3bsd UUCP or compatible, add an entry to L.aliases like: utgpu utcs If you dial out to utcs, make sure you call utgpu as well. If you are running HDB UUCP or another version that insists on verifying that it is talking to the machine it thinks it is talking to, you must contact us so we can give your UUCP login a uucico shell that thinks the UUCP node name is still "utcs". The alternative would be for you to completely disable the "utcs" connection in UUCP, and do the desired aliasing in your mailer for example. In a couple of months perhaps, the L.sys entries for "utcs" can be removed. Thank You, and sorry for the upheaval...
