Nope. Hayes do NOT hang up when they receive the +++ sequence. You can
break into command mode with +++, and go back into connect mode with
ATO (for online), or hangup with ATH0. I've got a Smartmodem 1200
sitting on top of my terminal here at home, and just tried it to verify
this.
