What goes in is what comes out, as they say. It is gatewayed to/from Usenet's comp.dcom.modems. The messages you see with the ">"'s at the left margin originate from the Usenet side of the gateway. I personally don't like to see people repeating whole messages just to add their comments. We don't usually do that on the Arpanet side. The subject field should be sufficient to tell readers what it's all about. The automatic include of text is an option on Unix netnews reader programs. I wish they never put it in! --Keith Petersen
