VenTel have made several modems in the MD212 range. The 1E is an earlier one with *NO* autodial. It was supplied in two versions: 1) For terminal users, in a large flat plastic case with a voice/data switch on the side, and an external PSU. The switch allows for manual dialing then switch to modem when machine answers. 2) For machine use a cage-mount card. This does not have the voice/data switch as they were for auto-answer only! PSU was in the rack cage. The two versions use the same card. I have several of the second variety which have been obsoleted from our main machine. I wish to reuse them as terminal modems and hence need the voice/data switch. PSU and box is easy to make. Does anyone have one of these and/or the info? Robert Skegg. ROSK@TRIUMFCL.BITNET
