I have a HAYES-compatible modem at home, works just fine, I can call out and connect to the rest of the world, and the modem recognizes that the phone is ringing and can answer, also detects busy properly. When I move the same modem and computer to a friends house, I can still dial out anywhere and connect OK, but the modem no longer recognizes ring or busy?? I suspect that maybe a pair of wires in my modular jack are reversed, but which ones? HELP!? Suggestions?? ------
