Message-ID: <2792@hammer.TEK.COM> Date: Tue, 24-Feb-87 10:39:48 EST Article-I.D.: hammer.2792 Posted: Tue Feb 24 10:39:48 1987 Date-Received: Fri, 27-Feb-87 02:33:12 EST Organization: Tektronix Inc., Wilsonville, OR Lines: 15 On January 28, 1987, the ANSI Board of Standards Review formally approved the draft for ANSI BASIC, making that BASIC a standard. It is officially BASIC-87, standard number X3.113-1987. The existing standard for "minimal ANSI BASIC", standard number X3.60-1978, coexists as an (incompatible) ANSI standard. It is the stated intention of the ANSI BASIC committee to withdrew that standard now that "full BASIC" has been approved. It will be several months before copies of the new standard become available for purchase. -=- Andrew Klossner (vice chair, ANSI committee X3J2 [BASIC]) (decvax!tektronix!tekecs!andrew) [UUCP] (tekecs!andrew.tektronix@csnet-relay) [ARPA]
