Lines: 19 Summary: WHOOAH! That's not what he asked for !! The poor person who asked the original question, as I recall, was asking how to discover the appropriate channels for publicising what he believed to be a novel algorithm. So far I have seen one followup that offered that information, n (n>1) replies saying "ah but you must be thinking of a radix-pigeonhole-what-have-you sort, fool", and m (m>>n) replies saying "well my prof taught me / I read somewhere that the best kinda sort is the foodangle variation of the quicksort", "oh no it isnt", "oh yes it is". The natural lifecycle of a USENET query generally seems to go through these stages and then reaches the "STOPPIT!!" stage. This one just did. By the way, at this moment I don't give a hoot what the consensus reality thinks the best sort is. The original question I thought was quite interesting....
