This appears to be a JANET host not an APRA host; therefore the route is: > user%multics.bham.ac.uk@cs.ucl.ac.uk > and likewise for all JANET hosts from ARPA. Not quite. UCL have taken the trouble to register all NRS registered JANET/PSS hosts in the ARPANET tables as MX records (the equivalent of application relays in the NRS) pointing to cs.ucl.ac.uk. Thus, all NRS registered hosts should appear as if they are directly connected to the ARPANET! Although, at the end of the day, the route is still through UCL, this should be transparent to the user. Effectively, "uk" is an ARPANET domain. -- EMAIL: stephen@comp.lancs.ac.uk | Post: University of Lancaster, UUCP: ...!mcvax!ukc!dcl-cs!stephen | Department of Computing, Phone: +44 524 65201 Ext. 4120 | Bailrigg, Lancaster, UK.
