The address you have is incorrect. It should be "user@multics.bham.ac.uk"! This should make sense to any smart mailer. What has probably happened is either a mailer (or news system?) has munged the header or the user who gave you the address got confused. Y'see, in the UK, the domain ordering is the other way round - ie multics.bham.ac.uk becomes uk.ac.bham.multics! Aren't standards wonderful?
