I meant to imply that the A2000 just isn't powerful enough for my personal uses (neither is a Mac-II) and that I wished Commodore would come out with something standard that had an '020 with an '881 on the board leaving the CPU slot open for something more useful like a good MMU (68851 or something) or maybe a really fast accelerator board. I had heard rumors of one such machine (anybody remember the ranger) and was wondering when it would come out (albeit rather sarcastically). As to multi-tasking w/o hardware support, I have heard of good multi-tasking (Unix system clones) systems written for the XT! How hard would it be to write something comparable for the Mac-II? Some people have told me that it would be much more costly than acceptable, but still... I wonder. Again, my apologies for cluttering up the bboard with such an offending message. I laugh myself (and shudder a bit) whenever I reread it. Thanks also for not also filling up the board with computer flame wars. -- Chad -------------- -- I don't really know where I am (but the mailer should :-) --------------
