Uh, would like to help out on this one, but a severe lack of 
specific information prevents me.  Which computer are you using?
A ][+, //e, //c?  With what 80 column card?  Do you wish to "clip
off" the right half of the screen and expand the left?  Or make the
new 40 column screen be composed of every other column of the old
80 column one?  Any information along these lines would be helpful.
