Message-ID: <8703020545.aa00748@SPARK.BRL.ARPA> Date: Mon, 2-Mar-87 03:00:00 EST Article-I.D.: SPARK.8703020545.aa00748 Posted: Mon Mar 2 03:00:00 1987 Date-Received: Tue, 3-Mar-87 20:12:25 EST Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Distribution: world Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 15 I have serious problems resulting in a damaged directory on my Appleworks datadisk. After I have loaded and modified an AW file and I try to save that file on disk, I get the message: "Can't write on disk at Ext. disk //c". AW puts a file on that disk named: "AppleWorks.TEMP" Deleting this file blows up the system and I've to reboot. When I want to list all the files on that disk I get the message: "Getting errors trying to read directory at Ext. disk //c". I've tried several disks with many times the same result. The only solution I know is: format that disk again and copy all files from the backup disk. I get bored to do this so often! Is there anybody who has the same problems or someone who could give me the right solution? I use Appleworks 1.3 installed with Pinpoint. My external disk is not from Apple but from Taiwan.
