NM Lines: 32 Keywords: A note from the author Well, every so often I need to post the status of VIX. VIX is a 90% Vi clone - closer than anything else available for the ST. It has a number of extensions, all fully documented (both in the manual and the on-line help screen.) I still own the copyright, but there is no charge for using it or passing it around. The source code includes what you would need to compile it on any Unix system or an IBM PC immediately, and can be adapted easily to any other system. VIX/TVX is the only 2 mode editor I know about for the ST, so if you don't like emacs, you may find one of these versions to your liking. The latest version is available from two sources: 1. Me. Send me one preformatted single sided ST disk and $5 handling charge, and I will send you back the disk with VIX (and TVX, the parent of VIX) with all sources (and executables compiled with Mark Williams C) ARCed (plus a copy of ARC to get it out!). Send me $8 if you want me to supply the disk. 2. SNAIL distribution. I don't have their address here, but VIX should be disk 2 or 3 of the SNAIL MAIL distribtion system announced on the net recently. They have the same version as I do. -- Dr. Bruce E. Wampler P.O. Box 140 Cedar Crest, NM 87008 ..{ucbvax | seismo!gatech | ihnp4!lanl}!unmvax!wampler
