Yes, Simon has a whopping big input buffer of 10K. The default input serial buffer is something like 128 bytes, so it can get overrun very quickly. By cat'ing a huge file without paging, you can overrun Uniterm's input buffer (and lose characters), but you really have to work at it. I have never had to use flow control when using Uniterm, even at 19200 baud (you should see kermit fly!).
