It occurred to me that I had ordered 10 DEBETs in late February; I asked my DEC salesman to check to see if these qualified for the new maintenance. He told me that they didn't. He also mentioned that the price of the DEBETs had increased by, would you believe the coincidence, one year's maintenance. Now I've seen some pretty slick sales practices described in the usenet news but this tops many of them! Seems to me that I no longer have the option of getting the first year's maintenance. In addition, I used to get the first 90 days of maintenance bundled into the installation cost; I suppose this is gone now that I get one year's maintenance with the product. I've never felt my postings needed a disclaimer but I suppose I ought to say these are my own ramblings and do not represent the position of my employer.
