I finally got around to making an OS9 Version 2 boot with Dave Lewis' Newdisk replacement for CCDisk. I had to do a lot of ident's on things, and I noticed that Newdisk is over 2 pages (>512 bytes) smaller than DP Johnson's SDisk, which I'd been using for two years on Versions 0 and 1. So, I went back and remade my Version 1 boots with Newdisk instead of SDisk. I can now boot with 175 + M pages free, where M = memory used by Mfree itself. Nice programming, Dave! And Newdisk can even tell when a drive doesn't have a diskette in it (just like RS-BASIC)! I strongly recommend this driver to anyone who like myself is very cramped for RAM space (#207). BTW, I've made a Version 2 Coco3 boot that comes up in 80 columns, using the 80-column driver posted here a while back. Now to figure out how to remove the CO32 and TERM32 from the bootfile altogether...mike k -- Mike J Knudsen ...ihnp4!ihwpt!knudsen Bell Labs(AT&T) >>>DRUGS are for WIMPS who can't handle SCIENCE FICTION<<<
