I have also experienced the power-up failure but only when I had a DataFrame
connected. It seemed worse if two disks were connected ( HD20 & DF ).
It occurred even when the disk was switched off which makes me think that 
the bus does some bizzare things like draining too much current from one
of the bus signal lines or something!
