Message-ID: <1149@ssc-vax.UUCP> Date: Thu, 26-Feb-87 17:32:58 EST Article-I.D.: ssc-vax.1149 Posted: Thu Feb 26 17:32:58 1987 Date-Received: Sun, 1-Mar-87 14:37:12 EST Organization: Boeing Aerospace Corp., Seattle WA Lines: 15 I've been up until 2:00 A.M. the past few mornings test-driving Microsoft Word 3.0. I love it. The page preview feature is really neat. And boy, is this bugger fast - scrolling, saving, printing, repaginating - what an improvement! Everything I've ever wanted in a word processor and more. Style sheets make formatting a snap. The spelling checker is pretty good. I don't mind the outliner, either. The documentation is very extensive. What an impressive package. The only problem is fitting it all on a non-enhanced 512K machine. The application takes up 393K, so that means the system on the other disk has to be stripped down considerably to make room for a few documents. Won't run on a minifinder. The only way I was able to use the spelling checker was on a Mac+ at work, also allowing me laser printer access. Time to upgrade. (Actually, it works on my 400K drives, but requires some disk swapping (I HATE disk swapping!).
