The December issue of Publish just crossed my desk.  It mentions "the new
EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) format, already being adopted by companies
such as Adobe, Aldus, Altsys, Symmetry and others".

What is the purpose of EPS, and where may I find a definition of the format?
