Has anybody done research into what text retrieval systems are
available for Unix?  We are interested in putting a set (or sets) of
documentation on line and providing our users with an easy-to-use
interface to allow searching and browsing.  We are interested in
both commercially supported and public domain packages.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
