Our backup medium is one TK-50 (cartridge) tape drive. I have noticed that any tape error, ranging from a bad read to an unmounted tape will crash the system with a "panic: protection violation" I was wondering if this is a problem that others experience, and if so, how can it be fixed or worked around. Thanks in advance for any pointers or suggestions. I could probably dig some information out of the crash dumps if this is needed to diagnose the problem. -- =============================================================================== : "Home is where you wear your hat." matt wartell : : -- E.
