Message-ID: <122@hubcap.UUCP> Date: Mon, 9-Mar-87 00:39:33 EST Article-I.D.: hubcap.122 Posted: Mon Mar 9 00:39:33 1987 Date-Received: Mon, 9-Mar-87 23:18:54 EST Organization: Clemson University, Clemson, SC Lines: 17 We are running Ultrix 1.2 on a VAX-780 and using lat terminal server software supplied by DEC. /etc/utmp seems to get dammaged on occassion and produces the following results when the who command is entered. wstef tty01 Mar 9 00:25 wgcrs01 ttyS0 Mar 9 00:05 stevl Mar 8 15:34 coors ttyp0 Mar 8 23:49 (PRISM) The entry displayed for stevl is really for ttyS9, which is a lat pseudo terminal. I think the file might get corrupted when the user logs out. Has anyone else had this problem? are there any fixes? W. Gregg Stefancik Clemson University gatech!hubcap!wstef
