The only thing consistant about UNIX commands, especially the options, is that they ALL work differently. Check the BUGS entry on every man page : "The (insert any letter) option does not work the same as the (insert related command) (insert some other letter) option." True, you can get used to them. True, I like it. True, it's powerful. It is NOT easy to learn, nor intutitive. (But neither is life).
