A few questions: 1) We have an upcoming need to supply some sort of bulletin board/messaging system/upload-download program to a member of our faculty for a GIS project that is extending beyond the bounds of the University. We have loose demands, but he has said that something like FIDO's would be 'ideal'. The only b-board we currently have is (I believe) Vassar's, which I personally don't much care for (sorry!) and I'm not sure anyone else does -- it's not getting much use. It is *not* really a satisfactory solution, but I suppose could be, if used in conjunction with other utilities (Kermit, Mail(?), etc) to provide the full functionality required (wow... did I really say that?). We will be aiming to allow bitnet and direct dial-up access to allow exchange of information and ideas relating to this project. 2) A list server will probably be eventually needed as well... is there one in the public domain for VMS? I suppose I should really contact INFO@BITNIC on this, or are they still persona non grata? Thanks in advance... Denis W.
