Grigor" Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 20 Approved: info-vax@sri-kl.arpa We have been unable to find the proper sysgen parameter/logical name/command switch to restrict the informational messages displayed by OPCOM to a single node in the cluster instead of broadcasting to all of the nodes. We are running VMS 4.4 on a two node cluster (780, 8600). I can see why shutdown messages are broadcast to all systems, although users panic when they see a shutdown message and do not look to see which system the message was sent from. I can also see why messages concerning devices that are "shared" via common queues and MSCP are sent to everyone. But I really do not need my security alarms to be sent to all of the nodes. The paper consumed at one console is bad enough. Please tell me the page that I keep skimmy over (or the page that DEC forgot to include). - Andy Grigor The Ballistic Research Lab ------
