One reached 'clyde' via 'cbatt' and like all other messages I've seen coming through there, a .UUCP has been tacked willy-nilly to the return address. This is clearly wrong. The other one reached 'clyde' from 'bellcore' and half a dozen other sites yet has a proper return address. Erik Fair can attest that the messages leave the UCB gateway with a sensible address. From what I can see a large percentage of our news (the west coast traffic and most gatewayed groups) seem to reach us via 'cbatt', and I would presume that all sites downstream of watmath and utzoo may be experiencing the same thing. Apologies in advance if I am barking up the wrong tree.
