There's nothing to identify a particular system's type - other than what the owner allows to be known. It's not a problem of software: I have already had my (dare I say it?) CP/M machine converse with our Vax via a UUCP-clone*, and have sketched out a relatively crude but useable news system. I'm not sure what the "equality" relationship mentioned really is..
