Apparently neither BITNET nor USENET (much less the internet) get there. It seems all of South America is absent, in fact. We have collaborators to exchange info with, and mail is too slow, telephone not usually sufficient. Even commercial nets, if they are cheaper than setting up a UUCP direct-dial (probably not possible, anyway) would be useful.
