I've been looking around for suitable modems and have noticed that several of them support the MNP protocol for error detection. Where can I get more specific information about MNP? In particular, I have a few questions: -- What is the actual MNP protocol? -- How many versions are out there, and are they compatible? -- How reliable is it? -- Would I still need a software packetizing/error checking layer? Also, will a 2400bps modem with MNP speak to a 2400bps modem with MNP from a different manufacturer? Any suggestions for a particular modem? Thanks in advance, Doug Luecke UUCP: {allegra!convex,ihnp4}!infoswx!doug VOICE: (214) 644-0570 SNAIL: 1784 Firman Dr., Richardson, TX 75081
